A recent request for bids was conducted for pre-coated chips to be used for in-house street maintenance chip seal operations. The bid opening was held on Thursday, January 10, 2017 at 2:15 p.m. One bid was received and opened from Calmat Company dba Vulcan Materials for $48.75/ton. Bid proposal was reviewed for responsibility and responsiveness, technical ability/merit, financial viability, references, and pricing. Staff requests City Council to give consideration of award of contract to Calmat Company dba Vulcan Materials.
