Discussion on changes to City Code Chapter 8 Business and the City Tax Code to make both codes compatible with changes in state law, restore the pre-July 2007 manner of licensing businesses, establish a means of meeting the needs of zoning and building codes, law enforcement and public safety and customize requirements to meet local needs where possible. The mandatory transition to state collection of city sales and use tax in January 2017 has created the need to change licensing procedures and restore access to information needed by several city departments.
